How to Blow an Interview

• Get discouraged by certain items you see or hear on the interview.
• Fail to reserve judgment for the ride home.
• Criticize or complain about current or past co-workers and/or bosses.
• Ask for too much money/vacation.
• Act uninterested. Try to play cool.
• Fail to ask questions.
• Fail to give specific examples of success, abilities, and accomplishments.
• Talk about “I” and not enough about “we” (be a team player too).
• Talk too much about “we” and not any about “I” (don’t be team dependent).
• Cut off your interviewer before he finishes asking a question.
• Let your guard down when you develop a really good rapport with someone.

Remember: An interview is an investment of your time. The more you prepare, the better return you will earn.
